Turkish wrestler becomes world champion for 12th time
Turkish wrestler Rıza Kayaalp became European Champion for the 12th time on April 22 in the Greco-Roman style 130 kg category at the 2023 European Wrestling Championship in Croatia.
Kayaalp defeated Sabah Saleh Shariati from Azerbaijan with a 2-1 result to win the gold medal in Zagreb.

Turkish wrestler Yasemin Adar earned a silver medal in the European Wrestling Championships in Rome on Feb. 13
Adar was beaten by Ekaterina Bukina from Russia 4-3 in the women's 76-kg final.
Adar, last year, won a silver medal at the World Wrestling Championships in the Hungarian capital Budapest.
Alin Alexuc-Ciurariu takes gold in Wrestling European Championships in Rome
Romanian athlete Alin Alexuc-Ciurariu took the gold medal in the 130 kg category, Greco-Roman wrestling, on Tuesday evening, in the wrestling European Championships in Rome, after defeating in the final Georgian athlete Levan Arabuli (6-1). Alexuc-Ciurariu (CS Dinamo), who turned 30 on February 3, thus managed his highest career performance.
