Teenagers using watersports vehicles putting selves, vacationers at risk in Turkish resort Bodrum

Children and teenagers using watersports vehicles in the Turkish resort Bodrum are endangering themselves and vacationers, the head of a watersports association in the district has said.

Bodrum Lifeguard and Water Sports Association Head Arif Yılmaz has urged vacationers and parents to be extra careful about jet-skies, speedboats and other watersports vehicles used by children.

Court arrests three over armed assault attempt targeting Eskişehir mayor

A court in the Central Anatolian province of Eskişehir has ordered the arrest of three suspects for the armed assault attempt targeting Eskişehir Mayor Yılmaz Büyükerşen on July 29.

Earlier, five suspects had been referred to court over the attempted attack.

Mayor of Turkey's Eskişehir escapes armed assault attempt

Yılmaz Büyükerşen, the mayor of the Central Anatolian province of Eskişehir, on July 29 escaped an attempted armed assault, a statement from his office read. The Eskişehir municipality said in a written statement that a group of shopkeepers drew gun on the mayor and attacked him. It said the attempt failed as locals immediately took cover of Büyükerşen.

Turkey will act if banks do not curb deposit rates: AKP deputy chair

The Turkish government will use the necessary tools at its disposal if banks to not curb rises in deposit rates, ruling Justice and Development Party Deputy Chairman Cevdet Yılmaz told Reuters on July 6.

Yılmaz, the AKP's deputy chairman responsible for economic affairs, said the rise in deposit rates was damaging to everyone and added they should be brought to a reasonable level.

Museum sheds light on Turkish cinema, theater history

The Türker İnanoğlu Foundation (TÜRVAK) Cinema-Theater Museum, established in 2000 with the 60-year accumulation of veteran director Türker İnanoğlu, sheds light on over 100 years of Turkish cinema and theater. 

The activity coordinator of the museum in Istanbul's Beyoğlu district, İlke Yılmaz, said the museum in the Erler Film building was Turkey's one and only cinema museum.
