In a coordinated operation involving the Patra Port Authority, fire service and police, 110 Greeks being repatriated from Italy were received and taken to their homes late on Sunday. 

4.7 magnitude earthquake on the Richter Scale was registered in northern Greece.

Athens' Geodynamics Institute reports that the tremor struck at 6:08 p.m. (1508 GMT) Saturday about 30 kilometres  northwest of the city of Agrinio at a depth of 28 kilometres.

There is no information for serious damages and injured people.

A strong earthquake with a magnitude of 4.7 has struck in western Greece, Athens' Geodynamics Institute reports.

The tremor struck at 6.08 pm local time (1508 GMT) about 30 kilometers (19 miles) northwest of the city of Agrinio at a depth of 28 km (17 miles).

No damage has been reported so far.

Three people have been indicted to stand trial after their arrest on Sunday on charges of soccer-related violence and possession of explosive devices, flares and firecrackers during a amateur soccer game in the central Greek town of Agrinio.

Two more people have died because there weren't any ambulances to take them to hospital, according to the national union of public hospital workers (POEDIN).

The incidents occurred in central Greece earlier this week - in Magnesia on Monday and in Aitoloacarnania on Tuesday.

Shortages in doctors have created problems in the operations of key departments at several hospitals. 

"We have warned that the problem of understaffing at hospitals will explode and hospitals will collapse," Panos Papanikolaou of the Federation of Greek Hospital Doctors' Unions told Kathimerini.

A crime ring that had been stealing electricity over the last seven months in various parts of the country was unraveled on Friday, according to authorities who said that six men were arrested.

Greek sculptor Theodoros Papadimitriou, who signed his work with his first name, died in Athens on Friday at the age of 87.

Theodoros is best known to the general public for his sculpture "Metro Clock," which graces the main concourse of the Syntagma metro station in central Athens, but also a stainless steel and bronze piece he did for the Athens Exchange called "Rising Index."

The customers of a local fishmonger in the city of Agrinio in central Greece could not believe their eyes when they saw a huge shark hanging on a hook outside the shop. Fishermen from Agrinio made the amazing catch some days ago in the Ionian Sea near the island of Kefalonia. The shark, which weighed 300kg was caught in the nets of the fishermen at depth of 500 metres.

The newly established national youth bridge team is counting down the days until July 8, when the European Youth Bridge Team Championships start in Slovakia. Between classes, homework and tutorials, the team has been making the time to practice over Skype, to be ready for the big showdown.
