Roadblock

Unionists representing farmers in Nikaia, central Greece, are preparing to set up a two-hour roadblock on the national highway linking Athens and Thessaloniki at the Platykambos junction, following a meeting on Monday.

The highway will be closed from 4.00 p.m. to 6.00 p.m.

Farmers from Nikaia in northern Greece head south on Saturday to set up a roadblock at the tunnels on the national highway connecting Athens and Thessaloniki in Tempi as they escalated their protest action.

Greek farmers are determined to continue their protest actions and blocking the roads, while they are accusing the Greek government of provocative acts, telling lies and dishonesty.

Specifically, the Kastanies-Rizia blockade released a statement denouncing what government spokesperson Olga Gerovassili said during the press conference.
