Education in Bulgaria

The Minister of Education, Prof. Galin Tsokov, unveiled the latest Ranking of Higher Education Institutions in Bulgaria's 13th edition, highlighting key insights into the country's academic landscape. Tsokov emphasized the remarkable success of graduates, noting a mere 2% unemployment rate among university alumni, dipping even lower to below 1% in certain specialties.

Bulgarian Ministry of Education and Science envisaged to regulate free education and additional incentives for these directions in the higher schools, which have the biggest gap between future labor market demand and today's demand for education, next year, said Minister Krasimir Valchev in Momchilovtsi.

As the number of Bulgarian students is decreasing, foreigners studying in Bulgarian higher schools are getting more and more. For five years, the increase is 37.8% and their share reaches 7%. This is apparent from the data of the National Statistical Institute.

The Ministry of Education and Science (MES) does not envisage the introduction of a compulsory math test in the state exams as requested by the Association of Industrial Capital in Bulgaria.
 

A new national program prepares the Education Ministry - "IT business enters school". This was announced by the Minister of Education, Krassimir Valchev, at a hearing in the National Assembly, reported the Bulgarian National Television.

The program is part of the measures to enhance digital education in Bulgarian schools and the link with the labor market.

After 8 years, almost half of all teachers in Bulgaria will be retired. This is the data of the Syndicate of Bulgarian Teachers, said its chairman Yanka Takeva.

The construction of Sofia Tech Park will start in May or June and will finish by end of 2015 or beginning of 2016, said its executive director Elitsa Panayotova.
