The 2021 Turkish Süper Lig football champions, Beşiktaş, received the championship cup on May 19 in a ceremony as fans of the Istanbul club rejoiced.

The Black Eagles arrived at their home stadium Vodafone Park by sea - an unusual way to celebrate a victory.

A total of 2.1 million fans watched 153 Turkish Süper Lig matches in the stadiums during the first half of 2019-2020 season, said, Passolig, the league's branded pass card dealer on Jan. 3.

Süper Lig's average attendance was around 13,700 in the first half of this season while the title contenders from Istanbul, Fenerbahçe topped the average attendance table with 38,901 spectators.

With an official announcement to the media, the Vitosha consortium, which includes Manchester Airports Group (MAG) and Beijing Construction Engineering Group (BCEG), wants to build a national stadium.

Galatasaray defeated Başakşehir 2-0 on April 15 evening at Istanbul's Türk Telekom Stadium to reclaim the top spot in the Spor Toto Super League standings.

The 43,000-capacity Vodafone Park by the Bosphorus was opened in April 2016 on the plot of Beşiktaş's former İnönü Stadium.
