CFR Calatori, CFR SA, CENAFER to celebrate childhood by open house event

CFR Calatori, the passenger arm of Romania's CFR national railway corporation, CFR SA and CENAFER will be celebrating childhood by holding an open house event on Friday at the Bucharest North Station.

CFR Calatori reports in a press release that children will be invited to visit the Royal Lounge, the station master's office, a spectacular small train diorama at the CFR Museum, while also taking a short imaginary trip by train.

The children will learn that railway transportation is the most environmentally-friendly means of transportation and that the basic rule for taking a train trip is to buy a ticket.

In the week June 1-7, which CFR has declared the Week of Childhood, two themed prize awarding competitions will be held on CFR's "Poftiti in vagoane" (All Aboard) Facebook page: a creation contest and a photo contest.

For the creation contest, the children can join in the "CFR Open House Day" by posting on the "Poftiti in vagoane" Facebook page a picture of their own creations (drawings, essays or mock-ups) that illustrate railway experiences.

As far as the photo contest is concerned, train travellers can post on the same Facebook page pictures of children in various railway spaces ? trains or stations ? for the contest called "Fairy-tale Journeys for Children."
