PM Orban: I am profoundly displeased by way in which several auction procedures took place

Prime Minister Ludovic Orban expressed, on Tuesday, his displeasure with the way in which a series of auction procedures took place, such as that for the tablets for pupils. "I am profoundly displeased with the way in which several auction procedures took place, the last procedure with the tablets, in which they did not have the capacity to finalize the procedure for all 250,000 tablets for which we have ensured financing from the Government. Luckily we foresaw this situation and we allotted 100 million euro money for tablets by reimbursement system," said the Prime Minister, in southern Turnu Magurele. Asked about the request of the Education Minister that the head of the National Office for Centralized Acquisitions (ONAC) be dismissed, Orban answered: "It's possible." He presented also the solutions to finalize the procedure to acquire the masks for disfavored people, if the winning company will not be able to fully honor its commitments. "If they do not deliver the full quantity in the term provided for by the contract, normally the Health Ministry has to denounce the contract and conclude a subsequent contract with the second place company. If the company on second place does not have the delivery capacity, they will do the same, denounce the contract and sign a subsequent one with the company on third place, until it gets the full quantity of masks," said Orban.AGERPRES(RO - author: George Onea, editor: Marius Fratila; EN - author: Razvan-Adrian Pandea, editor: Maria Voican)
