Away defeat to Young Boys ends Red Star's European campaign

BERN - Red Star Belgrade lost 2-0 to Swiss side Young Boys in a UEFA Champions League Group G Matchday 5 game in Bern on Tuesday evening.

Red Star paid the price for wasting about half a dozen clear-cut chances, losing all hopes of a Europa League knock-out stage berth next spring.

Young Boys took the lead in the 8th minute through a Kosta Nedeljkovic own goal and Lewin Blum made it 2-0 in the 13th minute.

In the other Group G match, Manchester City came from behind to beat RB Leipzig 3-2.

Manchester City are on top of the group table with 15 points and are followed by RB Leipzig with nine, Young Boys with four and Red Star with just one point.

Manchester City and RB Leipzig have already qualified for the Champions League knock-out stage and Young Boys will be playing in the Europa League.
