Trucks to remain a headache for Erdo?an

President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an is back hounding a media organ, this time daily Cumhuriyet, and Can Dündar, its editor-in-chief, for publishing footage about three Syria-bound trucks that were stopped by the gendarmerie near Adana in January 2014. It turned out at the time that the trucks belonged to Turkey?s National Intelligence Organization (M?T).

CHP applies to election board to restrict Erdo?an rallies before elections

Republican People?s Party (CHP) deputy chairman Bülent Tezcan applied to the Supreme Election Board (YSK) on May 28 to restrict collective inaugurations and public speaking engagements of President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an as part of electoral prohibitions.

Tezcan also asked for restrictions on the broadcasting of those gatherings, the CHP press office said in a written statement.

The governorate of the Aegean province of U?ak has cancelled a ?Milli ?ttifak? - a coalition of the Felicity Party (SP) and the Grand unity Party (BBP) - rally due to President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an?s public rally following an opening ceremony the same day, Do?an News Agency reported on May 24. 

AKP Adana candidate stabbed in the stomach

Ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) candidate Ramazan Demir has been stabbed in the stomach while election campaigning in the Alada? district in the southern province of Adana.

Demir, the AKP's candidate from Adana, was stabbed three times in the stomach on May 23 by two unidentified men while campaigning in Alada?.
