On Thursday, President Klaus Iohannis bestowed on the Her Majesty Crown Custodian's House Association, by presidential decree, a "Centennial of the Greater Union" anniversary medal and a "Centennial of the War for the Unification of the Romanian Nation" commemorative medal.

European Environment Agency sees lower air pollution

After Environment Ministry measurements last week pointed to a decrease in air pollution in Greece following the imposition of restrictions on movement, new data from the European Environment Agency (EEA) points to drops in pollutants in major European cities that are under lockdown to curb the spread of the coronavirus.

Port operator Global expects rise in cruise passengers

Global Ports Holding, the world's leading port operator, forecasts a 20 percent rise in cruise passenger numbers this year in Lisbon, the head of the company has said.

Chief Executive Officer Emre Sayın said Lisbon Cruise Terminal, which joined the company's portfolio in 2014, attracted nearly 570,000 passengers last year.

Flying to Portugal, Turkish Airlines outdistances world giants

Turkish Airlines carried the highest number of passengers from Asia, Far East, and the Middle East to Portugal through Istanbul and outdistanced its rivals in the same segment last year, the flag carrier's Porto manager told Anadolu Agency.

Turkish Airlines carried 285,908 air passengers to Portugal last year, of which 60 percent was transit, Ahmet Faruk Şahiner said.
