Strong Wind, Heavy Snow Causes Power Outages in Six Villages in Lom Region
Six villages in the municipality of Lom in Northern Bulgaria woke up with power outages due to strong wind on March 24.Electricity supply was restored early in the afternoon.
All roads are cleared from the snow and sanded. They are passable in winter conditions. Snow drifts in the region of Lom have been cleaned, the head of the District Road Management, Ilya Iliev said.
Person Hit by Train near Lakatnik Station
A person was hit by a train in the Iskar Gorge near the Lakatnik station, the BDZ has confirmed to Focus Agency. The accident occurred at about 7.45 this morning between Eliseyna and Lakatnik. The train was travelling from Lom to Sofia. Trains in the area have been halted until the on-site investigation concludes.

17 700 euro, 170 leva and personal documents were stolen from a man traveling by train from Sofia to Lom. The report of the theft was filed by the victim himself.
Migrant-Smuggling Gang Caught in Bulgaria
Bulgarian authorities have smashed a gang suspected of smuggling migrants into Western Europe, prosecutors said in a statement on Wednesday.
Eight people, including two Pakistanis, were charged with smuggling offences after they transported migrants, mainly Pakistanis, Afghans and Iraqis, from Turkey into Romania and then to Hungary and Austria, the statement said.

Network of Electric Bicycles to Connect Bulgaria, Romania
A network of electric bicycles will connect Bulgaria and Romania.
The network will be developed in the Bulgarian-Romanian cross-border region under a project financed by the Interreg programme.
