Police detain 424 suspects after hooligan attack; police officer in critical condition
Police have detained 424 suspects following violence in Rentis, Piraeus, during a Thursday night volleyball match between local rivals Olympiakos and Panathinaikos which resulted in severe injuries to a police officer.
Probe ordered into death of four dolphins in Aegean
The Archipelagos Institute of Marine Conservation filed a criminal complaint that has prompted an investigation into the death of four dolphins whose bodies washed up on the shores of Samos in the eastern Aegean Sea.
The complaint was lodged in May and the official probe was ordered on Wednesday by the Athens Prosecutor's Office.
Shots fired between two Roma men outside of Nafplio hospital
Shots were fired outside a hospital in the city of Nafplio, Peloponnese on Monday evening.
According to information from state broadcaster ERT, the shots were fired between two men, of separate Roma ethnicity families, who were at odds with each other.
Two people were slightly injured, while residents in the area locked themselves in their homes.

Vassilis Vassilikos, a highly acclaimed Greek writer best known for his 1967 political novel "Z," has passed away at the age of 89.

Owner of dogs that killed 5-year-old found guilty
The owner of the dogs who fatally injured a 5-year-old boy in 2016 in Kozani, western Macedonia was convicted of manslaughter on Tuesday.
According to state broadcaster ERT, the owner of the rottweilers was sentenced to four years in prison without suspension or 10 euro bail per day.

Greek YouTuber in pretrial detention after abusing persons with disability
The 42-year-old YouTuber who is accused of live streaming while molesting two persons with disabilities was remanded in custody on Tuesday.
According to state broadcaster ERT, the defendant denied all charges in his testimony and claimed that the persons in the live streaming did not have a disability and had consented before appearing in the video.
Roma protest in Thessaloniki after death of 17-year-old in police chase
Dozens of people from the Roma settlement Agia Sophia in western Thessaloniki protested on Tuesday the fatal injury of the 17-year-old that took place on Saturday in Boetia.
According to state broadcaster ERT, at around 2 p.m. the crowd set up a roadblock on Pontou street, which they then set on fire.
The protesters dispersed after the police rushed to the scene.

British woman falls from 4th floor of Cretan hospital
A 42-year-old British woman is in a critical but stable condition after falling from the fourth floor of a Cretan hospital.
She is being treated in the intensive care unit of Hania Hospital for brain injuries and fractures.
According to state broadcaster ERT, the woman went to the hospital's emergency department upon her arrival in Crete, stating that she felt unwell.
