Fire breaks out in Grevena
The Hellenic Fire Service has responded to a fire near the town of Grevena in northern Greece on Wednesday. According to state broadcaster ERT, the blaze broke out in a wooded area near Kogiadika. There is no reported risk to nearby homes.
There are currently 65 firefighters, 14 vehicles, four helicopters and two aircraft on scene.

15-year-old boy with disabilities attacked in western Athens
A 15-year-old boy with disabilities was assaulted by five individuals, possibly including minors, on Sunday night in Ano Liosia, western Athens.
As reported by the state broadcaster ERT, the suspects approached the boy and launched a brutal assault, repeatedly striking him on the head and forcibly taking his mobile phone.
Market inspections and fines work, says Skrekas
"The imposition of fines proves to citizens and society that the government is carrying out inspections in the market. That the government is in favor of the free market, but not the unscrupulous market," Development Minister Kostas Skrekas said on Wednesday, speaking to public broadcaster ERT, commenting on the high fines imposed on three electrical goods chains for misleading discounts.

Standing outside the blackened shell of what used to be his restaurant, Dimitris Hajifotis laments a livelihood lost to wildfires raging on the Greek island of Rhodes this week.
"My life now stopped," he said. "Everything is taken by the fire."

Athens police make arrest over July 13 attack on masonic lodge
Police in Athens have arrested a 61-year-old man who may have links to the far-right, in connection with an attack with a small makeshift bomb in the city center on July 13.
According to state broadcaster ERT, the suspect was identified from CCTV footage by investigators looking into the attack on a masonic lodge on downtown Acharnon Street that caused some damage but no injuries.
Woman found dead in Pangrati with injuries from dog bites
A 60-year-old woman was found dead in her apartment in central Athens early Saturday morning, bearing wounds from dog bites on her face, state-run broadcaster ERT reported.
The woman was found by her son, who returned hole shortly after 2 a.m. on Friday and notified the police. ERT reported that officers found two pit-bulls in the house, owned by the woman's son.
