Opera in the Park Festival Begins in Bulgaria's Sofia

The summer festival Opera in the Park organized annually by Bulgaria's Sofia Opera and Ballet in the Park of the National Military Academy will be held between July 4-July 27.

The festival program includes the ballet Swan Lake by Tchaikovsky, Giselle by Adolphe Adam, Don Quixote by Ludwig Minkus and Zorba the Greek by Mikis Theodorakis, Bulgaria's National Radio informs.

Agriculture Minister to Demand Agriculture Fund Management Resignation

Bulgaria's Agriculture Minister will demand the resignation of the management of the State Fund Agriculture at a board meeting on Thursday.

Minister Dimitar Grekov explained his decision with the many irregularities in the management of the institution, Bulgaria's National Radio (BNR) reported.

Sofia Municipality Sends Humanitarian Aid to Varna

Bulgaria's Sofia will provide humanitarian aid to the flooded Black Sea city of Varna, the Sofia Municipal Council decided, Thursday.

Experts from the Sofia municipality will help to assess the damage caused by the devastating floods that hit Varna last week. The financial aid amounts to BGN 30,000, deputy mayor for finance Doncho Barbalov told Bulgaria's National Radio.

Bulgarian Banks Keep Reducing Savings Interest Rates in April

Bulgarian banks continue to lower interest rates on savings products and to improve, mainly through new promotions, the consumer loans and credit cards conditions.

According to an analysis of MoitePari.bg for April 2014, there has been an improvement in the conditions for housing and mortgage loans, as banks mainly focus on cutting back fees, Bulgaria's National Radio informs.
