An increased number of attempts by migrants to illegally enter Serbia has been recorded these last days, a spokesperson for the Serbian Army and MoD has said.

Caretaker Deputy PM Stefan Yanev, who is responsible for organizing the early elections, told bTV that the government has information about organized bus travels from Turkey to Bulgaria for the upcoming elections.

Farm protests are expected today in different parts of the country, according to BNR.

The blockade of the Kapitan Andreevo border checkpoint with Turkey has been lifted, but the organizers from the United Patriots coalition voiced readiness to again stop traffic before the snap parliamentary elections on 26 March, according to BNR.

Groups of angry nationalist Bulgarians blocked roads from two border gates to Turkey on March 21 in a bid to prevent voters who hold passports of both countries on the eve of a general election over the weekend. 

Media reports about the massive money-laundering scheme which siphoned $20.8 billion (19.2 billion euros) from 19 Russian banks have named Bulgaria, Serbia, Croatia, Romania and Bosnia and Herzegovina among the countries where suspicious financial transactions took place.

Leaders and supporters of the United Patriots blockaded Bulgaria's main checkpoint with Turkey, Kapitan Andreevo, at 10am on Tuesday, claiming they were seeking to stop busloads of Bulgarian Turks arriving from Turkey to vote in the weekend's parliamentary elections.

Political parties want en masse to have representatives in voting sections in Turkey for the upcoming snap election on March 26, announced the head of the working group with the Foreign Ministry Elena Shekerletova.

Slightly after 10:00 hrs, traffic at border cross checkpoint Kapitan Andreevo was blocked by protests held by patriots against the so-called "voting tourism" from Turkey.

Initially, the protest was announced as peaceful but, later on, people decided to block the lane from Turkey to Bulgaria and put tyres and chains along it.
