Wildfires bore down on two Canadian cities Friday, with firefighters in the west bracing for another "scary" night as stunned refugees from the far north began arriving at shelters after their entire city was evacuated.

2nd bus carrying asylum seekers from Texas arrives in Los Angeles
A bus carrying migrants from a Texas border city arrived in downtown Los Angeles on Saturday for the second time in less than three weeks.
The office of Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass was not formally notified but became aware on Friday of the bus dispatched from Brownsville, Texas, to L.A. Union Station, Bass spokesperson Zach Seidl said in a statement.
One of two stowaways in bulk carrier ship found dead
One of two Colombian friends who had traveled on the ship Katya ATK without authorization was found dead inside a container three miles off the coast of the northern province of Samsun, while the other was released after his statement at the prosecutor's office.
Mexican sail training vessel to visit Istanbul

Croatia Accuses Eight of Smuggling Hundreds of Kilos of Cocaine
Croatia's Bureau for the Prevention of Corruption and Organized Crime, USKOK, has filed an indictment against eight Croatian citizens for smuggling hundreds of kilograms of cocaine and selling weapons.
The principal defendant, Petar Cosic, 52, is also accused of the murder of Milan Milovac, 47, who collaborated with the Belgrade drug lord Darko Saric.

The leaders of 11 Latin American nations, including its two biggest economies, Brazil and Mexico, have announced a plan to work together to address rampant inflation.
