Turkey and Israel are close to signing an agreement on compensation for the killing of 10 Turkish activists by Israeli commandos in 2010, a Turkish ruling party official said on Feb. 15.

Turkey has accused Russia of war crimes after missile attacks killed dozens of civilians in five medical facilities and two schools in northern Syria amid escalating tension in the region. 

The United States on Feb. 15 urged Turkey and Russia to avoid any further escalation after the two traded verbal blows over their respective military actions in war-torn Syria.
