Greens and Reds need late rallies to win on the road

Rick Pitino's domestic debut on the Panathinaikos bench brought the champion's 10th win in as many Basket League games on Sunday, while Olympiakos braved the challenge of host PAOK to win at Thessaloniki.

The Greens were challenged during the first half at Patra by Promitheas, but overcame their host with an 86-69 score to extend their perfect record in the league.

Peristeri scrapes through Panionios in tight game

Panionios pushed host Peristeri all the way on Saturday, but the Basket League's surprise package managed to preserve its perfect record at home and stay joint second at the table, along with Olympiakos. The Reds and the Greens had no problems, ahead of a tough week in the Euroleague with two games for each.

Gastroenteritis forces postponement of Greens' game on Rhodes

Promoted club Peristeri surprisingly sits alone on top of the Basket League as it beat Lavrio at home and Panathinaikos's game at Kolossos was postponed.

At least five Panathinaikos players suffered from gastroenteritis and all clubs (including Olympiakos) agreed that the game scheduled to take place on Rhodes on Monday should be postponed. A new date will be set later.

Greens and Reds prepare for league derby with easy wins

Panathinaikos, Olympiakos and Peristeri extended their perfect records at the start of the Basket League to five wins in as many games with their easy victories against minor opposition.

Panathinaikos overcame host Panionios 88-67 on Monday, Olympiakos thrashed Lavrio 102-63 at home on Sunday and Peristeri downed Ifaistos Limnou 89-81, having led by up to 25 points during the game.
