Bank accounts will automatically be converted from BGN to EUR on the day of the introduction of the single European currency, emphasized the Governor of the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB) Dimitar Radev in his publication in the bulletin of the Association of Commercial Banks.

Bulgaria's Gross External Debt is almost 41.5 Billion Euros

Bulgaria's gross external debt at the end of June 2022 amounted to almost 41.5 billion euros (52.5 percent of the estimated Gross Domestic Product - GDP), which is over 1.6 billion euros (4.1 per hundred) more compared to the end of June 2021, reports the Bulgarian National Bank, quoted by BTA.

SANS to Check the Cybersecurity of Bulgarian Posts

Bulgarian National Bank (BNB) and Bulgarian Posts (BGPost) to be included in the list of strategic sites to be inspected by State Agency for National Security (SANS). This will be proposed by the Council of Ministers after the cyber attack, which blocked the work of the post offices, announced the Minister of Electronic Government Bozhidar Bozhanov.

BNB Set to Restrict Mortgage Loans

The Bulgarian National Bank has taken a decision to restrict mortgage lending. The Board of Directors has decided to increase the capital buffer for banks' risk loans from 0.5% to 1% from 2021. The measure aims to ensure that vaults have sufficient reserves to cover losses on non-performing loans. As a rule, the buffer is increased when it is necessary to "cool" a large increase in credit.
