BELGRADE -- Education employees have gathered in front of the Education Ministry in protest over their "material position, and the state of the education sector."
Their representatives were on Tuesday holding a meeting with Education Minister Srdjan Verbic that ended with no agreement.
World Bank contributes 200 mln euros to ROSE project implemented by Education Ministry
The World Bank's Managing Board approved, on Monday, a loan of 200 million euros for the project ROSE (Romania Secondary Education Project) aimed at increasing the chances for undergraduate students to finish higher education, which will be implemented by the Education Ministry for a period of seven years, a World Bank release informs.

Book given to Turkish elementary students raises eyebrows over controversial remarks on women
The Education Ministry has ordered for the recall of a book distributed to elementary school students after a debate was stirred over its content that included insulting remarks against women.
The book "Flower Garden" was handed out to fourth grade students in a school in Istanbul's Esenler district as a part of a project called "One Book, One World."
Istanbul gives Turkey's budget a boost
Istanbul is boosting state income by bringing in nearly half of all tax revenues collected by the Treasury, according to figures released by the Finance Ministry.
Istanbul single-handedly contributed a sweeping 46.07 percent of the entire state budget with 185 billion Turkish Liras ($71 billion at the current exchange rate) in 2014.

Greek ministry says teacher hirings to continue via ASEP
