Police stage large-scale 'anti-Gülenist' operation in Turkish army

Police have launched a wide-scale operation against alleged members of the Fethullahist Terrorist Organization (FETÖ) in the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK), issuing 142 detention warrants for suspects in 32 provinces across the country.

Some 40 people were detained in the operation in the early hours of March 8.

Court rules for continuation of arrest of Doğan Group's Muratoğlu

An Istanbul court has ruled for the continuation of the arrest of Doğan Group Ankara Administrative Representative Barbaros Muratoğlu, who was arrested on Dec. 15, 2016 on charges of "helping an armed terrorist organization."

The Istanbul Sixth Criminal Court of Peace has conducted the periodic investigation of Muratoğlu's arrest and ruled for the continuation of it. 

ISIL militant scouted Turkish Parliament for possible attack, indictment states    

A prosecutor's indictment has stated that an Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) militant conducted reconnaissance for possible attacks on the Turkish Parliament, local ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) headquarters, and mosques, Doğan News Agency reported on Feb. 8.

More than 215,000 people used ByLock: Indictment

More than 215,000 people have been using ByLock smartphone app, an encrypted messaging application that is said to have been used by members of the Fethullahist Terrorist Organization (FETÖ) of the U.S.-based Islamic preacher Fethullah Gülen, according to an indictment prepared as a part of the FETÖ investigation. 

Turkish police identify Reina attacker as Abdulkadir Masharipov

Turkish police have identified an alleged Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) militant who attacked a famous nightclub in Istanbul as Uzbek national Abdulkadir Masharipov.

The attacker arrived in Istanbul from the Central Anatolian province of Konya on Dec. 15, 2016, to stage the attack on Jan. 1. 

Investigation launched into social media accounts praising Reina attack

Investigations have been launched into social media users who posted in support of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) attack on Istanbul's Reina nightclub on Jan. 1. 

Some 20 social media accounts are currently being examined by authorities over their comments praising the ISIL militant who killed a total of 39 people and left 65 others wounded. 

Court arrests former chief adviser of CHP head in Gülen probe

An Istanbul court ordered the arrest of a former chief adviser for Republican People's Party (CHP) leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu on Dec. 22 as part of the ongoing investigation into the Gülen movement, which is accused of orchestrating the failed coup of July 15, state-run Anadolu Agency has reported.
