Obrenovac gets field hospital, more aid distribution centers

BELGRADE -- Defense Minister Bratislav Gašić has said that three more locations for distribution of humanitarian aid would be available to residents of Obrenovac.

This temporary healthcare facility will provide treatments for the citizens living in the flood-affected areas and members of the Serbian Armed Forces and Interior Ministry repairing the damage.

Montenegro dispatches troops to help Serbian flood victims

PODGORICA -- The Armed Forces of the Republic of Montenegro sent their troops to provide assistance to the flood-hit areas in Serbia.

This was announced on Saturday by the Montenegrin Defense Ministry.

The 30km border fence between Bulgaria and Turkey will be completed by June, assured Bulgaria's Defense Minister Angel Naydenov.

Defense minister tours Ground Safety Zone

The state will do its utmost to improve the economic status of members of the Serbian military throughout the country, says Defense Minister Bratislav Gašić.

He was inspecting the activities of the 4th Land Forces Brigade of the Serbian Army (VS).

Bulgaria's budget for defense is not sufficient, believes the country's President Rosen Plevneliev.

"Substantial additional funds will be needed for the Ministry of Defense's budget in order to conduct the modernization of the army. As it stands, the resources are not enough", Plevneliev commented during a ceremony to promote a number of high-ranking military officials.

Soldier found dead at military range

KRALJEVO -- A 43-year old man from Kraljevo employed as a professional soldier by the Serbian Army, "has committed suicide,"RTS said it had been able to confirm.

The man has been identified as Miodrag Petrović. The Ministry of Defense confirmed the death of the solider, but not that the case was a suicide.
