The Ministry of Health will apply by the end of March 2018 to buy 400 ambulances equipped with state-of-the-art medical equipment and to renew 27 Emergency Medical Centers in the district towns with their 170 subsidiaries and 6 outsourced teams. This is reported by BGNES.

In a conversation with Prime Minister Boyko Borisov, the leader of Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP), Kornelia Ninova, has demanded a budget update for the National Health Insurance Fund for 2018 to fix "a big mistake" made by ruling party Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria (GERB) in regard to cancer patients, Ninova told a press conference.

Doctors from the Lovech Hospital "Prof. Dr. P. Stoyanov" came out in a protest, reports dnesbg. 

They have sent a declaration requesting payment of their salaries for three months to the National Assembly, Prime Minister Boyko Borissov, the government and the Ministry of Health.

The doctors and nurses of UMHALSM "N.I. Pirogov" will protest for a third consecutive day at 13.30. The reason is the growing tensions in Bulgaria's largest emergency hospital, caused by the chaotic and incompetent management of the current leadership.

''N.Y Pirogov'' Hospital continues to operate in normal mode despite the protests.

During the last day, more than 600 people have sought help in the hospital, more than 130 of them were left for treatment, the establishment confirmed.

For the period January-September 2017 visits of foreign tourists for treatment purposes were about 26,300. For the whole 2016, the visits to this purpose were over 47,500, said Deputy Minister of Tourism Irena Georgieva.

Every year the third Thursday of November marks the International Smoking-free Day. This year, the Ministry of Health decided on November 16, 2017, the motto of the campaign to be "Smoking and you", reports bgnes. 

About 20 municipal hospitals in the country are in severe financial condition and may go bankrupt, reports BNT. 

The Ministry of Health has set a target for up to half a year for every Bulgarian to have access to his/her electronic health record.

This was announced to BNT by Minister Nikolay Petrov.

Another BGN 300 thousand  will be provided by the Ministry of Health to the hospitals in Lovech and Vratsa, Minister of Health Nikolay Petrov told journalists, reported bTV.

Emergency assistance has already been paid in the two medical establishments, Minister Petrov assured.
