KINAL’s stance

In a general election we elect a government. This common knowledge is apparently not so obvious to everyone and certainly not to the leadership of the Movement for Change (KINAL), which seems to be disregarding the question of who will run the country, postponing it until after the elections.

ESM issues stern warning to Greek government

The European Stability Mechanism (ESM), Greece's chief creditor, in a regular report on the Greek economy has warned Athens to fully implement all reforms agreed to in the bailout memorandums, including a 3.5 percent of GDP primary surplus until 2022.

The report coincides with the Bank of Greece's announcement that it projects a 2.9 percent primary surplus for 2019.

Gennimata says Movement for Change will not enter coalition government

Movement for Change leader Fofi Gennimata has ruled out the prospect of her centre-left party joining a coalition government with the top party in the 7 July general election, which according to all polls will be New Democracy by a wide margin.

"We are seeking a strong mandate in order to overturn the political scene," Gennimata said.

Mitsotakis scraps rallies, opts for topical discussion with small groups

Straight on the heels of a triple electoral triumph in European, mayoral, and regional elections, main opposition conservative New Democracy leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis has decided to do away with large electoral rallies in favour of meetings nationwide with small groups of voters for interactive discussions on various subject areas in New Democracy's programme.
