Bulgarian Exports to EU, Third Countries Record Increase in H1 Y/Y
According to the preliminary figures of the National Statistical Institute (NSI), which were released on Friday, Bulgarian exports to the EU and third countries increased in the first half of 2015.
Between January and June, Bulgarian exports to the EU amounted to BGN 14.2 B, which represented an increase of 12.4 % compared to the same period last year.
Bulgaria Had Negative Balance of Trade in 2014
The final figures on foreign trade for 2014, which were released by the National Statistical Institute (NSI) on Friday, reveal that Bulgaria had a negative balance of trade with imports exceeding exports.
In 2014, the value of exported goods amounted to BGN 43.2 B, which represented a decrease of 0.7 % compared to 2013.

Bulgaria's Q2 GDP Records 2.2 % Growth Y/Y
In the second quarter of 2015, the GDP of Bulgaria surpassed BGN 21 B, amounting to BGN 2928 per capita.
This represented a growth of 2.2 % compared to the same quarter last year and an increase of 0.5 % compared to the first quarter of 2015.
This is revealed by the preliminary figures of the National Statistical Institute (NSI), which were released on Friday.

FDI in Bulgaria's Non-Financial Sector Drops by 5.9% in 2014
Foreign direct investment into Bulgaria's non-financial sector decreased by 5.9% last year, reaching EUR 21.95B, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) announced on Monday.
The biggest share of foreign direct investment (FDI) went into industry - EUR 8.95B, according to preliminary data, the NSI said. Services followed with EUR 4.58B in FDI attracted in the course of 2014.
Bulgaria's State-Owned Railway Carrier Sees Its Market Share Shrink to 5.1%
The number of passengers using the services of the Bulgarian State Railways (BDZ) company has dropped by over 1 million, or 9%, over the past year.
The passenger volume reported by the state-owned railway carrier shrank by over 1/3 in 10 years, according to statistics of the National Statistical Institute (NSI), as cited by Trud daily.

Trips of Bulgarians Abroad Record 16.5 % Increase in July
Bulgarians made 528 604 trips abroad in July, which represented an increase of 16.5 % compared to the same month in 2014.
This is shown by the latest figures of the National Statistical Institute (NSI), which were released on Thursday.
There was an increase in the number of trips made by Bulgarians to the UK, Turkey, Greece, Germany, France, Serbia, Spain, Italy and Austria
Tourist Trips by Bulgarians Drop 5.1% Y/Y in Q2 2015
A total of 810,100 Bulgarian nationals made tourist trips in the second quarter of 2015, a decrease of 5.1% compared to the same period of last year, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said on Friday.
The statistics doesn't cover Bulgarian residents younger than 15 years.
Bulgarian Population May Slump to 5 Million
Bulgaria's population could fall to just over 5 million by the last quarter of this century, taking it back to the same population level that the country had in 1920.
The alarming forecast comes from the country's National Statistical Institute, which is studying the Balkan country's demographic prospects.
