52 informatics personnel detained over alleged links to Gülen

The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has issued detention warrants for 105 personnel at various companies and institutions, with 52 of them being detained over links to Fethullah Gülen, the U.S.-based Islamic preacher who is widely believed to have led the July 15, 2016, deadly coup attempt.

Turkish university students develop house robot

A team of five students from a Turkish university have designed a robot which can work as a babysitter, a watchman or even a personal alarm bell.

Ankara-based Bilkent University students Muhammed Akbulut, Hüseyin Furkan Bozkurt, Suleiman Aijaz Memon, Hamed Mohammadi and Fahrettin Ömer Uyar, have named their creation Arbo.

Both of these events concerned two topics that Turkey has to focus on the most: one is patents, the other is gender equality.
