Uranium found in well serving small village in northern Greece
Authorities in the municipality of Volvi, east of Thessaloniki in northern Greece, have warned dozens of residents against the consumption of tap water after finding high levels of uranium during an annual quality assessment.

The notoriously overcrowded migrant and refugee processing center on the eastern Aegean island of Lesvos broke a new record on Tuesday, when its population reached more than 13,800 people.
This is more than the camp, which was designed to accommodate just 3,000 people, has ever held.
More than 30 areas identified for hydrocarbon exploration
Over 30 areas have been identified for hydrocarbon exploration in the Ionian Sea and off the coast of western and southern Crete, the state-run Athens-Macedonian News Agency (ANA-MPA) reported on Sunday.
The map of "plots" was presented by Hellenic Hydrocarbon Resources Management chief Yiannis Basias at an energy conference on the Eastern Mediterranean, ANA-MPA said.

British scientist killed by fall, expert says
A 34-year-old British scientist who was found dead at the bottom of a steep ravine on Wednesday on the eastern Aegean island of Ikaria, most probably died as a result of a fall rather than foul play, an expert said on Thursday.

Initial investigations into British scientist's death point to accident
Forensic experts on Thursday morning began investigating the area on the western coast of Ikaria, where the body of 34-year-old British astrophysicist Natalie Christopher was discovered the previous evening.

Two Turkish F-16s violate Greek air space
Two Turkish fighter jets entered Greek air space above the islet of Kinaros on Tuesday morning, according to the state-run Athens-Macedonian News Agency.
The pair of F-16s were flying at an altitude of 27,000 feet when they were spotted at 9.34 a.m. above the islet west of Kalymnos and Leros, and east of Amorgos in the eastern Aegean Sea.
