Russa raises quota on tomato imports from Turkey
Russia has decided to increase its quota imposed on tomato imports from Turkey, the Turkish trade minister said on Jan. 21.
"Quota imposed on our tomato exports by Russia has been increased from 200,000 tons to 250,000 tons," Ruhsar Pekcan tweeted.
The decree will come into force in 10 days, she added.
Russia has been Turkey's top tomato export markets in recent years.

Foreign trade volume up 3.6 pct in Q1
Turkey's foreign trade volume grew 3.6 percent year-on-year to $98.4 billion in the first quarter of 2020, according to a preliminary Trade Ministry data released on April 2.
The country's exports volume was choked off by coronavirus in January-March after seeing 4 percent rise in the first two months, the ministry said in a statement.

Turkey to unveil economic measures against coronavirus
Turkey will unveil measures to reduce the economic impact of the coronavirus outbreak this week, the treasury and finance minister said on March 16.
"President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will announce steps to be taken this week," Berat Albayrak said on Twitter.
Albayrak stressed that the country prioritized being prepared for the effects of coronavirus outbreak on the economy.
Turkey breaks export record while world economy shrinks
Bucking the worldwide trend of falling exports in recent months, Turkey has hit new export records, one after another, the head of the Turkish Exporters' Assembly said on March 10.
"Closing the first two months of 2020 with new records on a monthly basis was a source of pride for us," İsmail Gülle said at a kitchen and bathroom expo in the commercial capital Istanbul.
Turkish exports, imports on rise in February
Turkey's exports and imports increased on an annual basis in February, the trade minister said on March 3.
Turkish exports rose 2.3 percent year-on-year to reach $14.7 billion last month, while imports went up 9.9 percent to hit $17.7 billion in the same period, Ruhsar Pekcan said in a written statement.

Turkish furniture sector targets $4.5 bln exports in 2020
Turkey's furniture sector, which sells goods to nearly 200 countries and regions, has set a target of $4.5 billion in exports, an official told state-run Anadolu Agency.

Turkish exporters eye over $190 bln in revenue
Turkey aims to exceed $190 billion in exports in 2020, the head of the Turkish Exporters' Assembly (TİM) said on Jan. 21.
The country's exports, which were around $30 billion in 2000, were $180.5 billion last year, İsmail Gülle noted during the opening ceremony of the 16th International Istanbul Furniture Fair (CNR IMOB).

Shipbuilding industry exports reach $1 billion
Turkey exported $1.04 billion worth of yachts and ships last year, marking a 5.2 percent increase from 2018, according to data from the Turkish Exporters' Assembly (TİM).
Norway was the main export market as deliveries to this country amounted to $370 million, nearly doubling from the $185 million in revenues in 2018.
