Police fire teargas in rally in support of jailed terrorist

Greek police clashed with protesters in central Athens on Tuesday evening during a march in support of a far-left jailed terrorist.
Riot police fired teargas against protesters who were near central Stadiou Street. Streets around Syntagma square were closed off to traffic due to the march.

Supreme Court to decide on terrorist's prison leave Thursday or Friday

The penal section of the Supreme Court on Tuesday discussed an appeal filed by the court's top prosecutor Xeni Dimtiriou against the rejection of a prison leave for convicted terrorist Dimitris Koufodinas and is expected to announce its decision on Thursday or Friday.

Parliament attacked with paint, smoke bombs

A small group of around 15 hooded individuals slipped past guards and splashed paint near the front entrance to Greece's Parliament building on Tuesday.

The incident occurred shortly after 2 p.m. and the assailants were able to climb up the stairs beside the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and up to the front courtyard of Parliament, which is normally out of bounds for the public.

Anarchists wreak havoc over hunger-striking terrorist

As the Supreme Court convenes on Tuesday to discuss a furlough request by convicted terrorist Dimitris Koufodinas, groups of hooded individuals in Athens on Monday smashed ATMs, vandalized political offices and caused chaos at three university campuses in "solidarity" with the hunger-striking terrorist. 

Arsonists target ATMs, offices of conservative New Democracy

Unidentified arsonists used homemade explosive devices to cause damage to bank ATMs and offices of conservative New Democracy in different parts of greater Athens late on Sunday and early on Monday.

The offices of ND in Nea Ionia and Alimos were targeted while three ATMs were destroyed in Glyfada and one in Zografou.
