Leader of the Opposition in Venezuela was Killed

One of the leaders of the opposition in Venezuela was killed on Sunday morning local time in a demonstration against the Constitutional Assembly elections. The incident took place several hours before the vote to elect members of the disputed institution, AFP reported, citing a statement from the prosecutor's office.

Hundreds of thousands of people took to the streets of Venezuela on Saturday to mark 50 days of protests against the government of President Nicholas Maduro.
In Caracas alone, some 160,000 marched through the city, said Edinson Ferrer, a spokesman for the opposition, citing a preliminary estimate.
