Serbians win 5 medals at Canoe World Championships

MOSCOW -- Serbia won three medals on the last day of the 2014 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships (WC) in Moscow, and a total of five during the competition.

The country's most successful athletes were Nebojša Grujić and Marko Novaković, who won the men’s K-2 200m event.

Moldovan sisters won bronze at Germany European Championship

BRANDENBURG - Serbia's kayak team, sisters Olivera and Nikolina Moldovan, won the bronze medal in the 500 metre race at the European Championship in Germany on Sunday.

This is the second medal for Serbia at the competition, as Marko Dragosavljevic won the gold in the 200 metre race on Sunday.

Proceeds from Tanjug exhibition to go to flood victims

BELGRADE - Through a charity exhibition of photographs, titled PhotoSolidarity to Remember, the Tanjug News Agency has raised money that will go to the fund established in aid of flood victims.

The exhibition, staged at Mikser House, featured hundreds of photographs made by Tanjug photo reporters in all crisis spots, as a testimony of the disaster that befell Serbia in May.

Serbian kayak duo claim silver in Milan

MILAN - Simo Boltic and Vladimir Torubanov of Serbia have won the silver medal in K2 500 at the 2014 ICF Canoe Sprint World Cup in Milan.

Boltic and Torubanov finished the Sunday race in 1:29.093, just 0.20 seconds behind Tibor Hufnagel and Gergely Boros of Hungary.

Portugal's Fernando Pimenta and Emanuel Silva took the bronze, completing the race in 1:29.153.
