Turkey's election body on July 4 confirmed the outright victory of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in the June 24 presidential polls, saying he won almost 52.3 percent of the vote according to final results.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will take his presidential oath on July 9 at 4:00 p.m. local time and mark the official inauguration of the new presidential system following the June 24 polls. 

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will take his first trips on July 10 to the Turkish Cypriot State and Azerbaijan as the newly elected president, a day after he forms his new cabinet in line with the implementation of the new governmental system.

Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani on July 2 called President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to congratulate him and his ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) for the election victory. 

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) would continue working for the local elections, which are scheduled to be held in March 2019, expressing his discontent regarding the June 24 election results, where the ruling AKP lost 7 points from its vote percentage, compared to the previous elections.

Deputy Defense Minister Fotis Kouvelis expressed uncertainty about the release of the two Greek soldiers who have been detained in Turkey without charge since early March.

Two senior members of the United States' Senate, Lindsey Graham and Jeanne Shaheen, have paid a previously undisclosed trip to the Turkish capital to meet President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in a direct appeal for the release of U.S. national Pastor Andrew Brunson who has been in prison for more than 20 months on terror charges.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan vowed to keep fighting terror for the upcoming period, as the Turkish Army stated that 56 outlawed Kurdistan Worker’s Party (PKK) members were either seized or killed in military operations carried in southeastern border cities of Turkey and Northern Iraqi regions between the dates June 22 to 28.

There is no danger of refugee flows to Bulgaria, Brigadier General Plamen Angelov, the head of our military intelligence, said, quoted by the Bulgarian National Radio.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and his ally Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) leader Devlet Bahçeli agreed not to extend the state of emergency, local media reported.
