Bulgarian President Rumen Radev issued a stinging critique of the government's record on corruption and press freedom Friday, saying "the foundations of democracy are being threatened to a critical degree", reported AFP.

Head of State Rumen Radev will be visiting France on the invitation of President Emmanuel Macron on November 10 and 11 to participate in the Paris Peace Forum and marking the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I, the presidential press service announced on Friday.

Greece, Bulgaria, Serbia and Romania are planning to team up to make a bid for jointly hosting the World Cup in 2030, the heads of the four states decided on the sidelines of a summit in the Bulgarian seaside resort of Varna on Friday.

Celebrations dedicated to 140 years since the establishment of the Bulgarian Red Cross will take place on 25th of October, the press office of the Red Cross said on 24th of October. The jubilee is under the honorary patronage of the President of the Republic of Bulgaria, Rumen Radev, reports BNT. 

Romania and Bulgaria, which are not just neighbours but also friends, share a past that "has contributed to an enhanced degree of empathy" between the two countries, a present characterised by "an in-depth deepened partnership" and "a common European future", Romania's Ambassador to Romania Ion Galea told an interview granted to AGERPRES.

Some 400 thousand Bulgarians are working poor, and over 1.7 million people have an income under BGN 600. The data was presented by Galab Donev, Secretary of Social Policy and Health of President Rumen Radev, at the beginning of a round table on poverty and inequalities under the auspices of the head of state, Focus News Agency reports.

President Rumen Radev will be on a working visit to Great Britain from 17 to 19 October at the invitation of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The Bulgarian Head of State will have a meeting with Queen Elizabeth II on October 18th.

Tunisia's Foreign Minister, Khemaies Jhinaoui, who is on a visit to Bulgaria, met with President Rumen Radev, on 5th of October. The Bulgarian head of state noted that Tunisia is an important partner of the European Union in the fight against terrorism and migration.

The government proposes to the President to issue a decree appointing 10 new ambassadors. The decision was taken at a secret session of the Council of Ministers last Wednesday.
