The development of the transport, energy and digital corridors in the Black Sea region will be particularly important after the end of the economic stagnation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore it is essential that the work on the implementation of the joint Bulgarian-Georgian projects be continued.

Head of State Rumen Radev discussed today in a telephone conversation with his Serbian counterpart President Aleksandar Vucic the measures taken to restrict the spread of the coronavirus in Bulgaria and Serbia, and also the prospects for cooperation between the two countries so as to more quickly overcome the social and economic crisis.

The cooperation between Bulgaria and Romania in maintaining efficient green corridors for transporting and supplying goods, food, medicines and essential equipment was discussed by the Presidents of the two countries Rumen Radev and Klaus Iohannis in a telephone conversation.

The fight against the coronavirus requires joint efforts, cooperation and solidarity. This was the common stance shared by the Heads of State of Bulgaria and Turkey Rumen Radev and Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who held a telephone conversation on the initiative of the Turkish president, the presidential press office reported.

Every government needs a corrective, particularly when it has decided on its own to declare a state of emergency, when the functioning of parliament and the judiciary is practically blocked, Rumen Radev said

President Rumen Radev called on MPs to donate their March salaries for the fight against the coronavirus, and provoked the reaction of government representatives with his comments in connection with the measures during the state of emergency.

The head of state warned that the measures to protect the country from socio-economic catastrophe are not taken at the appropriate time.

Reacting to the government's proposal to extend the national emergency by another month, President Rumen Radev said in a statement Friday that the government should tell people what the effect has been of the first month in a state of emergency and reiterated that return to normal life the soonest possible should be a national objective.

President Rumen Radev congratulated all the representatives of the theatrical community and the Bulgarian culture and art on the occasion of the World Theatre Day - March 27.

The visit of the Bulgarian head of state Rumen Radev to the Federal Republic of Germany, scheduled to take place on March 26 and 27 at the invitation of President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, is postponed by mutual agreement because of the spread of the coronavirus in Europe.
