Greece, host of the first modern games in 1896, regained International Olympic Committee representation after four years on Wednesday when the head of its Olympic body Spyros Capralos was elected as one of 10 new members to the global organization.

World athletics chief Sebastian Coe blasted the "obsession" with Usain Bolt as track and field entered its new era without the Jamaican showman at the Commonwealth Games on April 8.

BELGRADE - Serbian female athlete Tatjana Jelaca was declared the best female athlete in the Balkans.

Jelaca won silver in javelin throw at the 2014 European Athletics Championships in Zurich and thus beat the national record.

At the ceremony in Bucharest, Jelaca received the award from the Vice President of the International Association of Athletics Federation Sebastian Coe.
