World Economic Forum to start in Davos under 'Responsive and Responsible Leadership' theme

The 47th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) will take on Jan. 17-20 in Davos-Klosters, Switzerland, under the theme of "Responsive and Responsible Leadership." 

More than 2,500 participants from nearly 100 countries are slated to meet and participate in over 300 sessions at the elite gathering.

Indications that Cyprus summit could be lower profile than anticipated

As the Greek government embarks on a campaign to brief international players, including British Prime Minister Theresa May, on Greece's positions ahead of the multilateral summit in Geneva on Cyprus, a senior representative of the Turkish-Cypriot breakaway state in the island's north hinted on Tuesday that it could be held without all of the leaders of the participant countries.

UK Permanent Reprsentative to EU Resigns Suddenly

The permanent representative of the UK to the EU Ivan Rogers has resigned suddenly just a few months before Prime Minister Theresa May launches the negotiations for the exit of the country from the EU.

According to Financial Times, Rogers informed embassy staff on Tuesday afternoon that he is leaving his post. He did not specify any reasons for this decision.
