Türkiye, Greece agree to mutually support candidacies in int'l organizations

Türkiye and Greece decided to mutually support the candidacies of the two countries in international organizations, Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said on March 20.

Çavuşoğlu met with his Greek counterpart Nikos Dendias in Brussels on the sidelines of the International Donors Conference.

FM Çavuşoğlu meets with UN chief ahead of high-level week

Top Turkish diplomat Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu met on Sept. 17 with U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres as the international body prepares to host leaders from across the world next week.

Çavuşoğlu said his meeting with the U.N. chief focused on a number of regional and international issues, including Cyprus, Afghanistan, Libya, Syria, and climate change.

UNGA head to visit refugee camps in Turkey

Volkan Bozkır, The Turkish diplomat heading the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), said on March 31 that he will depart on his first official trip since taking office to visit Turkey, Qatar and Azerbaijan.

He said his stops will include Hatay in Turkey where he will meet Syrian refugees and visit the U.N. cross-border humanitarian mechanism.

Biden sends letter to UN General Assembly President Bozkır

U.S. President-elect Joe Biden has sent a letter to Volkan Bozkır, the President of the United Nations General Assembly, Bozkır announced on his Twitter account on Jan. 4.

"We look forward to working with you and the U.N. General Assembly on addressing the range of issues and opportunities," Biden said in the letter.
