Two decares of forests destroyed by fire in Turkey's Ayvalık

A fire destroyed two decares of forests in the coastal district of Ayvalık in the Marmara province of Balıkesir on June 26, Doğan News Agency has reported. 
 
The fire is believed to have been started accidentally during a picnic, and gendarmerie forces have detained two people in relation to it.

12 people injured after container ship sinks off Turkey's Balıkesir coast

Some 12 people were slightly injured after a container ship sank off the Marmara province of Balıkesir's coast during loading on May 14, Doğan News Agency has reported.

The container ship named "Ali Ağa, which arrived at the Bandırma Port from the Aegean province of İzmir's Aliağa district, sank after the loading process went wrong on the afternoon of May 14. 

3,000 police officers dismissed over Gülen links were blacklisted by group

Some 3,000 police officers who were dismissed with previous statutory decrees can now be reinstated, as archives seized during an anti-Gülen operation showed that they were in fact blacklisted by the Gülen movement, widely believed to have orchestrated the July 2016 coup attempt in Turkey.
