Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias has accused Britain of playing a hand in derailing a UN initiative to help broker a Cyprus solution during last summer’s peace talks in Switzerland.

Turkish-Cypriot newspaper Yeni Duzen reported that access to a beach near the fenced-off town of Varosha is open only to Turkish nationals and Turkish-Cypriots showing identification.
According to the paper, Greek-Cypriots and foreign nationals are not allowed to enter.
Cyprus: Guterres letter says Varosha should open under UN control
A letter sent to President Nicos Anastasiades by UN chief Antonio Guterres confirms the international organization’s position that the Turkish-held fenced-off town of Varosha should open under UN-control.
And not under Turkish administration as it was widely speculated after the collapse of the UN-brokered Cyprus peace talks in Crans-Montana, Switzerland, in July.

Celik: Cyprus talks are 'over'
In yet another pessimistic statement coming from Ankara, Turkey's EU Minister Omer Celik said Thursday that the Cyprus settlement talks were "not suspended, nor frozen," but "over."
According to the Anadolu news agency, he made his statement following a meeting with the UK's minister of state for Europe, Sir Alan Duncan, in Turkey.

Turkish Minister of European Union Affairs: Cyprus talks have ended
Negotiations on the Cyprus problem have ended are in no way frozen or stalled according to Turkish Minister of European Union Affairs Omer Celik.
Speaking to reporters following a meeting with his British Counterpart, Alan Duncan, Celik expressed regret at the collapse of the Cyprus talks at the Swiss resort of Crans-Montana of July 7.

The United Nations said Wednesday that Secretary-General Antonio Guterres will decide "in due course" on the way forward with regard to Cyprus, after the collapse of reunification talks last month at the Swiss resort of Crans-Montana.

Cavusoglu: We all need to draw, with the UN, a path for Cyprus
Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu accused the Greek Cypriot side of not wanting a solution to the Cyprus problem in Crans-Montana.
Speaking to the Turkish state television station TRT, Cavusoglu also claimed that the Greek Cypriot side tried to put Turkey in a difficult position using false information.
