Two police officers killed in PKK attacks in Turkey's east
Two police officers were killed and nine people were wounded in an outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) attack late on Oct. 22 in the eastern province of Bingöl, state-run Anadolu Agency has reported.
PKK militants detonated a bomb-laden vehicle as a police vehicle carrying officers passed by at the entrance to Bingöl, according to security sources.

Helicopters destroyed three bomb-loaded cars in the Lice district of the southeastern province of Diyarbakır on Oct. 11 and 12.
Attack helicopters opened fire after noticing that bombs had been loaded into cars for use in attacks by outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) militants, according to a statement issued by the Diyarbakır Governor's Office on Oct. 13.
Soldier killed in PKK attack in Turkey's southeast
One soldier was killed and five security personnel were wounded on Oct. 13 when outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) militants detonated an explosive in a rural area of the Beytüşşebap district of the southeastern province of Şırnak, Doğan News Agency has reported.

One prisoner dead, another injured in jail fire in southeastern Turkey
A fire erupted in a jail in the southeastern province of Şırnak on Sept. 28, killing one prisoner and severely injuring another, while 12 employees working at the jail were also hospitalized.
The fire, the cause of which is yet unconfirmed, erupted in the juvenile section of the prison and initially injured 14 people, including two prisoners who attempted to fight the flames.
