Turkey's property sales to foreigners soar 65 pct in July
Property sales to foreigners in Turkey soared 65.3 percent in July compared to the same period in 2016, as domestic sales also saw a huge increase, official data has shown.
A total of 1,726 properties were sold to foreigners in July, with Iraqis being the top buyers, data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) showed on Aug. 24.
Army kills two PKK militants in Turkey's southeast
Two outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) militants were killed in an operation carried out by the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) in the Uludere district of the southeastern province of Şırnak.
According to a statement released from the General Staff, the militants were planning to stage attacks on base regions near border and were killed by artillery fire on Aug. 4.

46 PKK militants 'neutralized' last week, Turkish military says
Some 46 outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) militants were "neutralized" in operations in eastern Turkey in the past week, the military said on Aug. 4.
Authorities use the word "neutralized" in their statements to imply the militants in question were either killed, wounded or captured.

Opposition HDP deputy faces loss of seat in parliament
In a meeting chaired by ruling Justice and Development (AKP) Istanbul Deputy Mustafa Şentop, a parliamentary joint commission decided by a majority of votes to revoke the seat of Faysal Sarıyıldız due to missing too many sessions of parliament.
The commission will refer the case of Sarıyıldız, from the eastern province of Şırnak, to the general assembly for a final decision.
Three construction workers killed in two days by PKK in Turkey's Şırnak
Security forces launched an operation on July 3 against outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) militants who opened fire on road construction workers, killing two and injuring five others earlier the same day in the Uludere district of the southeastern Şırnak province, Doğan News Agency has reported.
PKK weapons, ammunition seized in Turkey's Şırnak
Security personnel seized a large number of ammunition and explosives believed to belong to the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) buried underground in the Uludere district of the southeastern province of Şırnak on June 28.
The Şırnak Governor's Office said the discovery was made upon a denunciation in a dried stream bed in a valley called "Serin" in the Andaç village.

Three soldiers killed in PKK attack in Turkey's Şırnak
Three soldiers were killed in an outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) attack in the Uludere district of the southeastern province of Şırnak on June 27, state-run Anadolu Agency has reported.
Security sources said PKK militants opened fire on a military vehicle carrying food to the Elmalı military base in the region with long-barreled weapons.
