NOVI PAZAR -- After Monday's terrorist attack in Zvornik, eastern Bosnia, on the border with Serbia, the police in Novi Pazar has increased security measures.

They are also "monitoring the situation on the ground," the Beta news agency reported on Wednesday.

Gendarme jailed for 40 years in double murder case

KRALJEVO -- The Higher Court in Kraljevo has confirmed the 40-year prison sentence previously handed down to Aleksandar Krstic, who was charged with double murder.

Krstic, a resident of Kraljevo, was serving as a member of the Serbian police Gendarmerie unit at the time the crime was committed, in July 2013.

Kragujevac signs cooperation agreement with company from UAE

BELGRADE - Officials of the City of Kragujevac and the company Barakat Palace Group from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) signed a cooperation agreement Monday under which the company is to mediate in bringing investors to that Serbian city.

The agreement was signed by Kragujevac Mayor Radomir Nikolic and President of Barakat Palace Group Talal Ahmed Ali.

Norwegians searching for cluster munitions in Sjenica

JAGODINA/SJENICA - Professionals with the Norwegian People's Aid (NPA) tasked with demining started on Tuesday searching the site in the area of Sjenica suspected of having around one million square meters contaminated with cluster munitions, Director of the Serbian Mine Action Center Branislav Jovanovic said.

VALJEVO - The exhibition on Valjevo during the epidemic of typhoid fever in 1914-15, when the whole town was one big hospital, is to open at the National Museum of Valjevo on Thursday, April 2.

The presentation is inspired by the first-person narratives of foreigners who found themselves in Valjevo, western Serbia, at that time.
