"U.S. to suggest to Germany to allow opening of chapters"

It can be expected that the U.S. will suggest to Germany and other EU members to let up, and give Serbia a chance to open chapters in membership negotiations.

This is according to Faculty of of Political Sciences professor Ivo Viskovic, who added that the visit of Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic to Washington is "very important."

PM Vucic meets with John McCain

Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic met with U.S. Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman Senator John McCain.

"USA will support our EU path. With Chairman of the Senate Committee on Armed Services, Sen JohnMcCain," Vucic wrote on Twitter on Wednesday and posted two photographs with McCain.

The Serbian Socialist Party's steering committee should be held in mid-June, when it will then choose a deputy leader for the party, four vice-presidents and the head of the executive board.

The latest survey suggests the party and its coalition allies enjoy the support of up to 15 per cent of the voters, which makes them the second strongest political force in Serbia.

Vucic extends condolences to Chinese PM over tragedy

PM Aleksandar Vucic on Tuesday sent a message of condolences to Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang in the wake of the tragic shipwreck on the Yangtze River.

"It is with great sadness that we learned of the tragic shipwreck on the Yangtze River, in which human lives were lost and many passengers are still reported missing," the Serbian prime minister said, and added:

PM Vucic starts official visit to United States

Aleksandar Vucic has started his official visit to the United States where he will be until June 4. Vucic was invited by U.S. Vice President Joseph Biden.

Immediately upon his arrival in Washington, the prime minister told the Serbian state broadcaster RTS that this visit was "very important for our country and that he was happy that to have a full schedule," and added:
