Top business group to hold meetings with political party leaders ahead of elections

Turkey's top business group has announced it will hold open meetings with political party leaders ahead of the Nov. 1 elections in a written statement on Oct. 13. 

First guest of the Turkish Industry and Business Association (TÜS?AD) will be Republican People's Party (CHP) leader Kemal K?l?çdaro?lu on Oct. 15 in Istanbul. 

Yeni As?r newspaper office vandalized after call for protest in ?zmir

The offices of local daily Yeni As?r in ?zmir have been vandalized with red paint and eggs following a call by the regional representative of the Confederation of Progressive Trade Unions of Turkey (D?SK) to protest the newspaper in a demonstration commemorating the victims of the Ankara blasts.

Russia's Putin says not striving for leadership over Syria

Russia is not striving for leadership over Syria, President Vladimir Putin said on Oct. 13 at an investment conference, adding that existing cooperation with Western countries over the Syrian conflict was not enough.

Russia, the United States and Europe should encourage political dialogue between the sides of the Syrian conflict, Putin added.
