Athens-New York year-long link returns after five years
After a five-year absence, the year-round daily air link between Athens and the New York area is scheduled to resume as Dubai-based airline Emirates on Monday announced it will be starting flights on the route from March 12.

Air arrivals from abroad rose 9 percent in 2016
International arrivals in Greece by road and air rose considerably last year from 2015, according to data from the Institute of the Greek Tourism Confederation (SETE).

Athens airport had best year ever in 2016
Athens International Airport enjoyed its best year ever in 2016, as it served a total of 20.02 million passengers, adding 1.9 million passengers to its traffic from 2015, or 10.7 percent year-on-year.
December 2016 fared even better, with a 14.3 percent increase compared to the same month a year earlier.

TAIPED proceeds with AIA and Cassiope deals
State sell-off fund TAIPED had two reasons to be happy on Thursday, as it looks set to secure the extension of the concession contract for Athens International Airport and to complete the deal for the concession of a plot at Cassiope, in the northern part of Corfu island, after almost four years of delays.
