The NBA Playoffs and Player Comebacks

When it comes to sporting events, all is up in smoke, or shall we say all up in the air. This is the current situation worldwide, and unfortunately the fate of the NBA playoffs is still to be established. Whilst we all hope that all the games will resume with playoffs being played in June 2020, we are still not sure.

Bora Stankovic passed away

Stankovic is one of the founders of BC Red Star, a Yugoslav national team player and the man who scored the first basketball points in the World Cup history.
Stankovic played for Red Star, Zeleznicar and Partizan during his playing career from 1946 to 1953, while he also served as coach in the BC Partizan.

Inaugural Posidonia 3on3 Basketball Tournament on May 30

Due to popular demand, the first edition of the Posidonia 3on3 Basketball Tournament will take place on Saturday, May 30, at the Eurohoops Dome indoors facility in Kifissia, northern Athens.
Expected to attract some 150 shipping executives, the event promises plenty of action, excitement, fun and networking opportunities.

Euroleague Basketball suspends its games for now

The Euroleague announced on Thursday the suspension of all its tournaments, i.e. its main competition, the Eurocup and the Next Generation Euroleague, with immediate effect.

The decision, that applies indefinitely, followed the diagnosis of a Real Madrid player with coronavirus, and the suspension of the NBA in the US.

EuroLeague: Anadolu Efes' Larkin named MVP for sixth time

Turkey's Anadolu Efes superstar Shane Larkin earned the most valuable player (MVP) honor for the sixth time this season in Turkish Airlines EuroLeague on March 7.

"Shane Larkin re-wrote history books on Friday night while powering Anadolu Efes Istanbul to a 91-79 home win over Olympiacos Piraeus and earning, in the process, another MVP of the Round honor," EuroLeague said on March 7.

Euroleague shows not all defeats are the same

Panathinaikos and Olympiakos had two very different defeats on Thursday and Friday, as the Greens suffered a bad 31-point loss at home to CSKA Moscow, while the Reds fought hard before succumbing to leader Anadolu Efes in Turkey by 12.

CSKA beat Panathinaikos 97-66 on Thursday in Athens in what hardly seemed to be the battle between the fifth and the sixth at the table.
