Old sea mine found in Bosphorus destroyed
An exploded sea mine caught in fishermen's net in the Bosphorus has been detonated by the efforts of the military.
"A sea mine, which was caught in the net of a fishing boat and taken to a deck in the Bosphorus, was examined by an Underwater Defense [SAS] team and destroyed at the SAS Command/Riva destruction training area," the Defense Ministry said on Twitter.

Prince of Liechtenstein holidaying in Bodrum
Prince Rudolf, nephew of the king of Liechtenstein, and his Turkish wife, Tılsım Tanberk, have chosen the Bodrum district of the Aegean province of Muğla to spend their vacation, according to daily Milliyet.

Motocross legend crosses Istanbul Strait on specially designed bike
A world-famous motocross rider has crossed the European side of the Istanbul strait reaching the Asian side in 1.5 minutes by riding a specially designed bike on the Marmara Sea for an ice-cream advertisement.

Authorities fine noisy tour boats in Bosphorus
Authorities in Istanbul handed a total of 48,000 Turkish Liras ($5,700) in fines to tour boats in the Bosphorus for violating sound limits following an unannounced inspection.
The teams of the Provincial Directorate of Environment and Urbanization and the Coast Guard Command conducted an inspection of the tour boats at the Bosphorus and entertainment venues by the strait on Aug. 16.
