Mild tremor rattles Crete

Crete was jolted by an earthquake measuring 4.4 magnitude on the Richter scale Monday afternoon.

According to the Athens Geodynamic Institute, the quake's epicenter was around 41 kilometers southwest of the southeastern Aegean island of Kasos at an estimated depth of 10 kilometers.

Crete quake, measuring 4.5 Richter, jolts island

A moderate earthquake, measuring 4.5 on the Richter scale, struck south of Crete at about 1 a.m. on Thursday, according to the Athens Observatory's Geodynamic Institute.

There were no reports of any injuries or damage as a result of the quake which has its epicenter south of the port of Irakleio at a depth of 10 kilometers below sea level.

Karpathos hit by 4.2 tremor

A moderate earthquake measuring 4.2 on the Richter scale rattled the Dodecanese island of Karpathos on Saturday morning, the Athens-based Geodynamic Institute reported.

The tremor occurred at 10.35 a.m., the institute said, adding that the quake's epicenter was located in the sea area 43 kilometers north of the island, at a depth of 10 kilometers under the seabed.

4.3-Magnitude Quake Registered in Greece, Felt in Southwest Bulgaria

An earthquake with 4.3 magnitude on the Richter scale was registered in Greece and felt in Macedonia and in the region of Southwest Bulgaria, according to correspondent of BGNES.

The earthquake was felt around 10.15 local time (EET) with epicenter 5 km west of Kristoni, Greece, 26 km south of Star Dojran in Macedonia and 162 km southeast of Skopje, at a depth of 10 km.

Earhquake, 3.9 Richter, hits Nafpaktos

An earthquake measuring 3.9 on the Richter scale hit the area of Nafpaktos in southwestern Central Greece shortly after 3 a.m. on Wednesday, the Geodynamic Institute in Athens reported.

The moderate tremor occurred at 3.08 a.m. local time with the epicenter at a depth of 5 kilometers.

There were no reports of injuries or damage.

4.0 earthquake hits Karpenisi

A light earthquake measuring 4.0 on the Richter scale was recorded at 11:40 on Wednesday at Karpenisi.

According to the Geodynamics Institute of Athens’ Observatory, the earthquake’s epicenter was located 5 km western of Karpenisi and the focal depth at nine km.

No damages were reported.

Magnitude-3.0 Earthquake Shakes Bulgaria's Smolyan Region

An earthquake measuring 3.0 on the Richter scale has been registered, in southern Bulgaria close to the border with Turkey, at 16:44 local time on Friday, the European Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) announced.

The epicenter was located 153 km southeast of Sofia, 32 km north of Smolyan city and 2 km northwest of the town of Luki, at a depth of 5 km, the EMSC said.
