A 5 km Queue of Trucks Has Formed at the Exit of "Kapitan Andreevo" Border Checkpoint

The traffic at the Bulgarian-Turkish border is intense. A 5 km queue of trucks has formed at the exit of "Kapitan Andreevo" border checkpoint, reported Traffic Police.

At "Lesovo" checkpoint there is a 1 km queue, at the exit from Bulgaria as well.

At all the border checkpoints with Serbia, The Republic of Macedonia, Greece and Romania the traffic is regular.

Greek Farmers Block Briefly Road to Thessaloniki

Greek farmers protesting for a sixth consecutive day managed to close off briefly on Monday the road to Thessaloniki at the crossroads near Serres

Their tractors, which were on the side of the road, were moved onto the lanes in the afternoon. Thus, the police had to reroute traffic.

After about two hours, the farmers moved the machines again and unblocked traffic.

18-km Truck Queue at Kapitan Andreevo

There is an 18-km queue of trucks at border cross checkpoint Kapitan Andreevo at the exit from the country. The truck queue at border cross checkpoint Lesovo is 8 kilometres long and that at Danube Bridge at Ruse - 3 kilometres.

The Interior Ministry has assured that there is no problem with the processing of heavy vehicles at the borders.

Protest of Greek Farmers Closes Checkpoint at Border with Bulgaria

A protest of Greek farmers closed the Ilinden-Exochi checkpoint located along the Bulgarian-Greek border on Monday.

The farmers blocked the passage through the checkpoint by placing agricultural machinery.

Border police informs that the passage through the checkpoint was halted at 11 o'clock EET, with the blockade expected to continue until 14:00 o'clock EET.

15 Bulgarian Border Policemen Suspected of Human Trafficking

A disciplinary action has been taken against border policemen at the Kapitan Petko Voyvoda border checkpoint, who are suspected of human trafficking.

The investigation is conducted against 15 out of all 17officers who are working at the checkpoint, the Bulgarian National Radio (BNR) reports.
